Seasonal Flu Vaccinations
The Polk County Health Department, along with Visiting Nurse Services of Iowa, and Wesley Community Services are offering influenza vaccinations to students, parents, siblings, staff, and the community.
Influenza injections and Flumist are available. Each recipient will be counseled by one of the flu nurses on which vaccine is the most appropriate. You may also visit www.polkcountyiow.gov/health for more information on influenza and vaccinations.
All middle schools and high schools will also offer the vaccines recommended for adolescents. Tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (tdap), meningitis, and human papilloma virus (hpv) vaccines will be available.
Please Note: No one will be turned away for inability to pay and a parent must be present for kids under age 18 to be vaccinated.
