Supporting Quality Education for all Students
More than a century ago, 20 school districts joined together in order to better serve all of the children of Iowa’s capitol city. Today, with more than 30,000 students, Des Moines Public Schools is the largest provider of public education in the entire state.
The Des Moines Public Schools Foundation is organized to actively support our school district’s work of achieving its mission to help prepare every student for life with a rigorous and rewarding education.
“The Des Moines Public Schools Foundation provides a new way for our community to rally around its public schools and support the critical work that goes on in them to prepare our students for their future.” Teree Caldwell-Johnson, School Board member
The Foundation works to positively support and assist Des Moines Public Schools in providing the best opportunity for all students; preparing students to meeting the demands of our future work force; and supporting the goals and objectives of the school district.
