Programming

DMPS-TV programming airs 24 hours a day. With the exception of some specialized programming such as DMPS School Board Meetings and other special events, DMPS-TV runs on a continuous loop. We keep our features brief and repeat them often so we have a better chance of catching our viewer’s attention and keeping it. Depending on how much programming we have, our stories usually repeat one to three times per hour.

In addition to broadcasting School Board meetings, some of our regular programming includes:

CLASSROOM CONNECTIONS: A public affairs discussion on issues important to students, teachers and parents in Des Moines Public Schools. This series allows us to showcase DMPS programs in a “talk show” environment.

NEWSBRIEFS: Periodic news shows on recent events in Des Moines Public Schools.

ARTS: A showcase of arts-specific events and news content.

SPORTS: A showcase of sports-specific events and news content.

FILM SCHOOL: Film School features videos made by students and teachers in the Des Moines Schools. Any teacher can submit multimedia content for possible air time on DMPS-TV.

SCHOOL BOARD MEETINGS: School board meetings are shown live on DMPS-TV at 6:00 p.m. on the day of a school board meeting. These are rebroadcast at 6:00 p.m. every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.
