Lincoln RAILS No Longer on Lock Down
Late this morning, Lincoln RAILS Academy (the 9th grade building for Lincoln High School located at 1000 Porter Avenue) was placed on a full and partial lock down for approximately one hour. The school went off of lock down at approximately 12:15.
This was due to a report we received from a parent indicating their student may have posed a threat to the school and our students.
The Des Moines Police Department responded immediately to the situation. Police and staff thoroughly searched the school building. It was confirmed that the student had not been on campus today, and there no threat found to our school or students.
Lincoln RAILS went on lockdown as a precaution, and according to the direction of the DMPD and our district’s security staff.
