#BowtieTuesday at Brubaker – DMPS-TV News
The worldwide #bowtieTuesday trend grows strong at Brubaker Elementary as Eric Van Dorin, Dean of Students, designed a t-shirt that staff, students and parents ordered to raise funds for a local charity that supports kids in Iowa with cancer & their families.
“As I thought about this event I really wanted to try and turn it into more than just a fun day, so we decided that we would take the “profit” off of each shirt and donate that amount to the Luekemia & Lymphoma Society in the name of a 3rd grader we have that suffers from childhood cancer.”
The response was outstanding with approximately 200 shirts ordered, and $570 in proceeds donated to Kids Living Brave in the name of 3rd grader Jonathan Dooley.
