Online Volunteer Application

NOTE:

Once you have clicked on the red apply button, you will be taken to the Des Moines Public Schools application system. Although the top of the page will say employment application, you are in the right place. Please hit the start tab to begin the application process.

It typically takes 10-15 minutes to fill out the volunteer application. Please note that it will take longer if you apply to any other vacancy or position desired. All applicable pages for each position selected will be included. When you come to the vacancies desired page that asks you to check the positions for which you would like to be considered, you can find the volunteer application using one of the options below:

  1. Title Contains: enter volunteer
  2. Posting Contains: enter volunteer
  3. In Category: use the dropdown menu to select volunteers

Once you have made your selection, please check the box for  JOB ID 136.

The time it takes to process an application can vary from applicant to applicant. Please be patient, as it can take several weeks to complete all necessary steps if additional documentation and/or review is required. We encourage all potential volunteers to apply at least a couple of weeks before the activities you intend to support start to avoid any delays in your service.

You will receive e-mail notification when the processing of your application is complete. Until you receive this confirmation, do not perform any volunteer activity at your selected school site.
